We hired Crotty Services Inc. (CSI) to replace the septic system for our home. We do not recommend Crotty Services Inc. for this service. Our new system was installed on 10/3/2023. CSI chose to install our system two days after our area received a tremendous amount of rain, which caused local flooding. Since they decided to install our system after significant local flooding, they were not able to get the tank low enough as outlined in the permit application. We believe CSI showed negligence in not checking how the local flooding would impact the depth of the new system.Since our tank was not installed at the proper depth, Wayne had to adjust the piping. When connecting the piping from the exterior house plumbing to the tank, Wayne installed these pipes with an inclining slope towards the tank.We learned that these pipes were not installed up to code, as all piping from the house to the tank must maintain a downward slope. Unfortunately we did not learn of this improper installation until Feb. 2024. In Feb. 2024 we experienced a back up in our sewer line. After clearing the back up, we investigated what could have caused the backup with our new system. We uncovered the dirt just to the top of the sewer line and discovered that some of the piping installed by CSI was installed on an inclining slope to the septic tank. Also, we observed that solid waste from a black water line was flowing away from the septic tank and back flowing up a gray water line toward the kitchen sink. Solid waste from a black water line should not be traveling away from the tank.I called Ashlyn with CSI on 2/12/2024 and explained what happened, that we had a backup in our system, and we discovered that piping installed by their company was installed on an incline. Ashlyn explained in detail to me that this was not up to code, as all piping from the home to the tank should have been installed on a decline, allowing the solid waste to properly flow into the tank. She said that she would speak with Wayne and see about having someone come out to the home and re-level the piping. We did not hear back from Wayne until 2/22/2024. He stated that we needed to hire a plumber to redo the lines from the home to the tank. We do not understand why we would need to hire a plumber to redo the lines that were installed by CSI. Wayne said that he would only come out and look at our system if we agreed to potentially pay a service fee if he does not think that our system requires a warranty repair. We asked him many times over email if our issue would be covered as a warranty repair, sending pictures and detailed information. He would not answer our question and said he would only come out if we agreed to potentially pay the service fee.CSI said that our system has a five year warranty. We believe that CSI is not honoring our warranty by not correcting the improperly installed piping. The septic permit application states, “Excavated spoil material to be properly disposed of offsite. ALL spoil material must be removed prior to final approval.” CSI did not remove most of the spoil material from our old system. When excavating part of the old drainfield, they buried the spoils in the abandoned, crushed tank. We watched as Wayne excavated, and we did not see Wayne move any of the old soil from our property to the dump truck. At the conclusion of the installation, Wayne said that we owed an additional $750 for spoils handling. We were confused as to why we had to pay additional money when Wayne did not remove any of the spoils, just move them around. Wayne explained that even though he did not remove any of the spoils, we still had to pay for the “handling”. For months after the system installation, we continually found old, crushed piping from the spoils and old drain field. When we reached out to CSI about this, we never received a response. We are extremely disappointed in the service provided by CSI.

I can’t say enough good things about this company and everyone I’ve interacted with who works there. I had a nightmare of a previous septic company, and most companies wouldn’t even take us on knowing who services us previously. The owner Wayne came out himself to inspect us and sign us on, and also to give us a pump out. He took his time to explain everything to us very thoroughly. The secretary Ashlyn has also been beyond helpful and kind. You can tell they genuinely care about the work they put out and it shows. I’m so glad I found them, my family will be a life long customer!

We scheduled an appointment for our regular maintenance with Palm Bay Septic. When they failed to keep two appointments, I called Reliable Septic but they quoted $475 because they are from Vero Beach. Ashlyn with Crotty Septic quoted $350 as well as other local companies but I chose Crotty because their location was close to our residence. And, when Ashlyn understood I was calling for maintenance and not an emergency, she led me to believe the price may even be lower than $350.00.However, when Wayne completed the service, we were really surprised to be charged $425! We have had our tank pumped twice prior to this service where the service was inclusive with one price. Crotty charged $350 for the tank, $50 for the baffle sides and $25 for the filter. Although Wayne was reliable and got the job done, I was very disappointed with the misleading of pricing and would have selected another company had I known their price was going to be $425.

I had a problem with the septic backing up, so I was looking for someone that knew what they were doing. Wayne came and did excellent job on cleaning out the septic very thorough. Then he told me why the septic was backing up. I needed a new drain field. No pressure on selling it to me just told me all the facts I needed to know to about the drain field. So I had it done. It was kind of a hard job because of the space limitations. The whole backyard was covered with the drain field. He did a wonderful job being very careful not to damage anything. I am very happy with the job he did, and would recommend his outstanding work to anyone.

I called around to get my septic pumped as it had been over 3 years since the last pump out. I called Crotty Services and Wayne scheduled me for later that week as I was not in a rush. He called 2 days later and said he was in the area and if I wanted he could swing by and do the job. He came, did a great job, answered all my questions as I never seemed to be home when we have had it pumped out in the past. Wayne was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He was even a bit cheaper than other quotes. Highly recommend.

Excellent Service Team. Wayne was prompt, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable. Ashlyn was a great coach, guiding me through the Save the Lagoon program paperwork. Thanks to both!

Wayne was very knowledgeable and skillful with my install. He was careful not damage any of my pool piping. He also had to move one of my fruit trees and he did a masterfull job of not killing my tree. Everything is working perfectly after the install and we are very happy!

I recently hired Crotty Services , Inc. to inspect and pump out my septic tanks that were completely full and preventing my toilets from flushing. I can't say enough how glad I am to have found them! I called about 7 other companies that were either not available for more than a month, wouldn't come out to inspect only, didn't have the staff to perform the service and one of them even refused to schedule me to come out at all unless I paid over $500 by credit card over the phone. Finally, one of them recommended Crotty. They had the soonest availability and the best pricesWayne answered my call even though he was out of town and it was after normal business hours. He did not rush me off the phone, he listened patiently and let me know the soonest available time he could possibly come out. He was clear about what the cost would be and even gave me some tips for what I could do, until he could come, to relieve the backup to allow the toilets to flush when he could have pushed the "after hours" service to come out sooner, which is slightly (very reasonably) higher in cost. They had the soonest availability and the best pricesI called on the day of the scheduled service to ask what time I could expect him to arrive and again, Wayne answered my call and informed me of his schedule and where I fit in. He actually called me later in the day just to give me a heads up that he was getting closer to arriving and how much longer it would be until he arrived. He inspected the system, explained everything thoroughly, and answered all my questions. I was told to by our realtor just under a year ago when I purchased this home that the tanks were pumped out. Wayne informed me that there is no chance that was true and also offered to back me up in every way possible should, I choose to take legal action. He also took the time to to call his office to research if my address was approved for grant money available to pay for a new septic system. When he ascertained that I was not on his current list, he provided me with the direct phone number for me to call further check for possible funds. That phone call led to a another call to the city of Melbourne which resulted in me now being added to the wait list for a zero interest, zero payment loan for a complete new septic system!Wayne pumped out both tanks for a better price than all others quoted me for just one and not only that, I did not have enough cash on hand and he agreed to let me catch up with him later to pay him for the remainder I owe him. Extremely knowledgeable, kind, honest, patient and thorough. I HIGHLY recommend him. Couldn't be happier with them. I won't call anyone else now, even if I have toilets backing up and have to wait for him!
